Dublin Book launch!

Just returned from a wonderful book launch at Blanchardstown library in Dublin. Thanks to the friendly warm people who attend and bought my books. Thanks also to my lovely family who came along to support me on the day.  We had a fun time and the two babies who attended with their mum, my niece, were as good as gold. I was launching my latest book  “Where the Shamrocks Grow” and it sold really well. The hotel we stayed at was only ten minutes away from the library which was very handy.  The problem was that my family live on the north side of the city and the library is on the south. I had a hair-raising experience when I decided to drive across to see them on the busy M50 at six pm in the evening.  It was like a car park, only it was moving very fast. I accidentally took the wrong turning and ended up going in the opposite direction.  I drove for miles before I could get off.  Luckily I know Dublin pretty well and followed the signs for the city.  One thing, we had an unexpected tour of the city at night.  A journey that should have taken half an hour, took an hour and a half.  We were in need of a cup of tea when we finally arrived at my nephews. I was in no state to get on that M50 again that evening, so my nephew kindly drove us back to the hotel. However, the drive home through Wales was glorious. Ta for now....

RNA conference weekend.

Members enjoyed a wonderful annual RNA conference weekend on 10-12 July. It took place at the Queen Mary University London. There is no way to describe a group of 25o romantic authors getting together for a long awaited chat about the weird and wonderful happenings over the course of the year. You have to experience it to know what it’s like. Inspiring talks on all aspects of writing a novel.  And no matter how many books authors have published, there is always something new to learn. This was one of the best I’ve been too and I was sorry when the weekend came to an end.  Roll on next year. Ta for now....

Radio Blog Talk

I’m looking forward to Dellani’s Oakes Blog Talk Radio show tomorrow evening at 9pm. I’ll be reading a short excerpt from Where the Shamrocks Grow and chatting a while with Dellani. It is to celebrate the 4th anniversary of my publisher, Tirgearr Publishing.  Eleven Tirgearr authors will be joining in the celebration and talking about their books.  It should be fun. The link if anyone would like to listen in is http://www.blogtalkradio.com/rrradio/2015/02/25/red-river-radio-whats-write-for-me   Ta for now Cathy...

RNA Chapter

Eighteen  romantic novelists’ turned up for our monthly chapter at the Belmont Hotel in Leicester on 6th Feb 2015. It was a very noisey chatterly lunch with an update on everyone’s recent news and publications with a cake to celebrate. It’s surprising how enlightening these gatherings can be. It’s also a nice break from working at the computer for hours on end without another author to talk and discuss things with. Yes, we have Facebook and all the other networking sites, but nothing compares to a face to face chat. There is always something new to hear and learn about from other writers on the changing face of publishing.  A group such as the Romantic Novelists’ have a wealth of knowledge and talent to impart.   Ta for now Cathy x...

I’m back

After a wonderful 2014 I’m keeping my fingers crossed for 2015.  So far it’s been amazing. Two new books are due out in print this year and also audio and large print. That is all good news for me. I hope  readers’ who have enjoyed Shadow Across the Liffey and Her Father’s Daughter in print will also enjoy Galway Girl and Where the Shamrocks Grow. My publishers, Tirgearr had a book sale from Christmas Day through to end of January and this has boosted sales of all four books. Unfortunately for readers’ they are now back to top price. I have a few events coming up soon and will post about them later.  And I’m writing a fifth romantic suspense set in Dublin. So watch this space. Ta for now.   Cathy...
